The Dow falls in the final hour of trading. Investors looked at retail sales and inflation numbers during the last hour of trading on Wednesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased by 78 points, or 0.23 percent. The S&P 500 decreased by 0.04%, with shares of SolarEdge and Generac contributing gains of over 8% and 7%, respectively.
The Nasdaq Composite Index increased by 0.55%, as shares of Airbnb climbed 13% after exceeding earnings estimates. Gains in Tesla, Rivian, and Lucid also contributed to the index’s advancement.
